Considering the affection the design community has for Apple products and the Pantone Matching System, combining these passions seems ripe for success. At least that's Case Scenario's theory with this new line of licensed cases: they're Pantone approved, so you know the hues and ridiculous code names are legit. In total, nine different versions are available for the iPhone and four for the iPad, providing plenty of style leeway should the colorware route be out of your budget. No word on pricing or availability just yet, so for now it looks like our Capsure color identifier will have to remain holstered until more details surface.

Conceived by interior designer Michel Penneman and architect Oliver Hannaert, the Pantone Hotel, which has recently opened in Brussels, is undoubtedly the ultimate place of rest for synesthetes and the colour-conscious. Although I have become accustomed to the sight of Pantone mugs in every second gift store, I am quite in awe of this new project that forms a part of the Pantone Universe. Mixing colour therapy and design, each room corresponds to one of seven palettes: earthy/rich (chocolate), daring/fiery (fuschia), vibrant/intense (orange), cheerful/warm (lemon), captivating/esteemed/silky (pink), fresh/eager (green) and tranquil/exotic/exhilarating (aqua).

The actual interior design is relatively stripped back and minimalist in tone, which allows the individual colour palette utilised in each room to visually pop. If I were to visit the hotel in the near future, I think I would go for a pink room. There’s just something delightfully kitsch about the prospect of sleeping in a room that accords to a “captivating” and “silky” chromatic design.

Not sure if its the Holiday season getting to me already or what! But, I am really digging this red!

I have been seeing it on some really great pieces and I have used it recently with great results.

Its kinda like the go to standard of the Pantone system really.

One thing about me, I have a love affair with illustrator, its such a perfect program, nothing against the other bunch of CS4 programs, (which I love as well!) but for me, I am loving illustrator.

Being a huge fan of Conan O’Brien, I am very excited for the big switch!

On June 1st The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien goes live on NBC. And he has a great new logo to show for it!
Conan says this about his new logo,“I wanted a logo that acknowledged the long, rich tradition of The Tonight Show while still looking good on hats, T-shirts, mugs, lawn furniture, notebooks, stemware, urns, defibrillators, water bottles, cell phones, sports equipment, pens, vacuums, chimes and our new line of unisex cologne.”

I for one cant wait until he comes back, its been kinda boring during late night recently. Sorry Jimmy.

I was sitting around the other day thinking about how I got to this point in my life where I get to create art for a living.
I really think it has so much to do with the books I read as a kid. Well, I didn't really read them, more like study the pictures at great length. I used to sit for hours, eyes fixated on one page, trying to see how they did that, or how much I like it!
One very special book for me was The Rainbow Goblins by Ul de Rico
It was a great story about these goblins that would get strength from the colors, and in turn would take all the color wherever they went. They go on a mission to find the one place where there is still color, I wont give away the end, but I remember thinking as a kid, how dark it was, and almost disturbing. And I loved it.
I think about it quite a bit, how did I become who I am, I think it goes back to childhood, I know, news flash, who you are is all about how you are raised!, but, as I get closer and closer to one day having a family, I am starting to see how important it is to have great books around.

Loving this color.

Pantone 3262.

So many uses, depending on what you pair it with it can be kinda 80's, or super modern.

Try it with a nice soft brown, and white, classic.

I have used it lately with great success, and in painting, I am using it mixed with pinks and gray tones. Looking really good.

Ok, Here is something I am going to try and do at least once every week. I am going to call it ..:: DIGG'N THIS ::.. These will be things that I am diggin. ( I know, clever. ) It can range from sites that I am into, products that I feel are progressive or innovative, anything really. Whatever comes into my mind.

So, this weeks Digg. PURPLE. ( PANTONE 2597c, to be exact! ) For the longest time I was never someone that used purple in art or design. And as a kid, I hated sports teams that had the color in their logos, and you could've bet your allowance that I would've never worn clothes with the color of grapes! But lately, I have changed my tune. It has so many uses, and so many emotions attached to the color, that it truly is a amazingly versatile color.

I am aware that Pantone voted Mimosa as the color of the year this year, and I actually love that color too, but right now, I am really Diggin Purple.
