I found this gem on the Internet the other day. I'm hoping its true!

Nike is supposedly in the works for creating The Self Lacing system like the shoes in one of the best movies of all time, Back to the Future 2, (well the whole series ruled actually, but 2 was the best!)

Complex magazine recently released a list of the top 100 brands of the decade.

I have to say I pretty much agree with most, some seemed slightly skewed, but still a great list of brands.

I wont ruin it for ya, so you guys should check it out.
Kind of a funky interface for viewing, but worth a look.

Check it out HERE.

This weeks SOTW is yet another classic.

Now I get emails from people saying I should be highlighting the "New Shoes" that are coming out in limited runs. I hear that, but I have to say, I own these Classic Adidas Rod Lavers and I get people stopping me and asking me about them. As much or more then if I go out wearing some of my "New Shoes"

The RL are very similar to another Adidas classic shoe, with the simple green and white colorway, many others have been done of this shoe, but the original remains the strongest look.

So, I stay true to focusing on good shoes, not just the flash in the pan models.

More on the man Rod Laver here.

This weeks ..::SOTW::.. is another true classic.

They are still some of the most comfortable shoes out there!

And, I just bought a pair, of the red ones, and they get looks!

Not just because they are red, no. because they are sick.

Vans is still on their game, and still a huge name when it comes to shoe / Skate culture.

I am a huge fan of the retro style shoes, these are pretty much the definition of retro style shoe.

If you follow the Bay Area design scene at all,
then this guy needs no introduction.

Benny Gold.

The man behind some of the best branding that's happening in the city by the Bay.

Brands like HUF, MASH*SF, REAL, 510 just to name a few.

The guy is one of the premium taste makers in the game, and with his own line not only looking solid, but selling out, and becoming a premium brand in its own right, his future is only going to get brighter!

Stay Gold.

Now I will admit, this weeks SOTW may not be the best eye candy for some of you. But the idea is down right brilliant!

These shoes, made by SeaVees are a celebration of the PANTONE color matching system. These pictured above are pms 322.

They have a full collection, and are releasing more and more based on the success of these.

If your a designer/shoe freak, these are a must have.

OH! SNAP! This weeks S.O.T.W, is another classic!

This brightly colored gem got re-released, the Nike Air Tech Challenge II.
I had these for a bit when I was younger, and wore them somewhat, but they never got the "cred" they deserved where I was from.

Now with the re-release, and a few changes from the original, (which they do to all re-makes) I plan of giving them there do.

Before it was standard in tennis to were loud colored clothes, and be a "Rebel" there was Agassi. And these here, were his kicks.

This weeks SNEAK OF THE WEEK, sticking with the classics,
going with the VANS high top.

I have been on a mission lately collecting all the shoes I had or wanted when I was a kid. And these where close to first on the list. They come in so many colors nowadays, with palm trees and checkers, but for me, its blue or black.

Trust me I'm all about the new school sneaker culture, and I will feature some of those as well. But you gotta start with the roots, and these my friends, are roots.

..:: SNEAK OF THE WEEK ::..

Starting a new section here on ..::DIG::..
I am going to spotlight sneakers, once a week, or so, sneakers that I think are worthy of such a spotlight.

I will call it SNEAK OF THE WEEK, clever I know.

This weeks shoe, the original Adidas Stan Smith. Simply classic. White green, it's just is so perfect.

You know you have a good sneaker, when they do different color ways, but the original is still the best.

..:: LEGEND ::..

I am really hoping that everyone that reads this will know who this person is.
If not, I'm sorry.

This man is Tinker Hatfield. If you grew up in the same era as I did, you most likely wanted a pair of Air Jordans. And if you didn't, I'm sure you heard about them. In my opinion, there was no pair of shoes more desirable then the Jordan 4. Tinker Hatfield started with the design of the Jordan 3, and is still working today on Jordan and the Nike Innovation Kitchen. Which is always pumping out some of the most influential shoe designs and technologies.

Tinker Hatfield was a part of some of the most popular and influential shoes that Nike has ever produced. I remember When I was a kid, my mom wouldn't let me get the black Jordan 4's, she used to say that "people will KILL you for those shoes!" Of course that scarred the hell out of me for the duration of my youth. The thing was, that made me want them even more! Needless to say, When I became old enough, and was no longer scarred of being killed for my shoes, I went on the search. Finally after finding dozens of fakes, I found them. And now they proudly reside in a safe place, in the original box, just waiting to be worn once again.

Tinker Hatfield's contribution to the shoe world is huge, but as a designer, he has changed the way people make shoes, and the way people conceptualize the shoe design process.
